This brilliant card was given to me in 2009 by a York Region grade 8 gifted class who created an elaborate guerrilla art campaign using word-blocking censor bars to change the meaning and possible interpretations of the paper messages they put on their fellow student's lockers.

Below are some of my favorite feedback notes from students, that I have been collecting since 2007, that speak to the impact of the work and the experience of the workshop. Most of them are in response to one of the 4 prompts/sentences I ask them to complete. 1. I felt... 2. I now know... 3. My favorite session was (collage, culture jamming, sound art, installation/guerrilla awareness campaigns, zines)...and why? 4. I have more to say:... and then there are a few questions I have asked specific to the focus of a particular workshop, such as: 1. Media is... 2. What are my bias' that you picked-up on throughout our time together? and 3. Why do you think my agenda is/ why do I work in schools?

Many of these live on the walls of my studio, but I also hide them in pockets and backpacks for the occasional spontanious reminder of the generosity and enthusiasm of the young people I have the privilege of working with.

See what project partners at the Toronto Public Library, Toronto and York Region District School Boards and Theatre Direct had to say about working with me here.
