The Guide For Young Creatives Sharing Art Works online and in real life

This video was created as a media literacy resource for young creatives/artists when creating and sharing work online and in real life. From seeking collaboration and feedback to dealing with trolls and harnessing the power of the internet to spread messages faster and farther, this video is intended to share info for new generation artists to consider when producing works for the new media landscape.

It was co-produced by Eloya Williams and Never Gallery Ready as part of a SPARK project in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Cultural Hotspot Initiative (2018).

AUGMENTED REALITY POSTERS FOR THE CLASSROOM

These posters about the science, hygiene and history of soap were illustrated by Tyson Bodnarchuck, text and Animated video content by karen darricades, soap characters voiced by Bayan Chacra. Buy the posters for your classroom and engage students in the content by using the free Artivive app to view the digital and 3D content that animates them.

Fun Facts about soap:

  • The soap we use today is the same soap we have been using for more than 5,000 years! The Babylonians thought it was important enough to carve the recipe into stone —literally!

  • Surgeons do a full 5 minute scrub in before entering the operating room! And you thought your hands were chafed from all the washing

  • Ignaz Semmelweis, a 19th-century Hungarian doctor working in Vienna General Hospital, is known as the father of hand hygiene.

  • Soap kills more germs than hand sanitizer and produces no plastic waste when used in bar form, yay soap!
